At Renewable Parts people are at the centre of all we do; and we believe that getting to know our team is an important ingredient when forming strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
We know it often makes a world of difference being able to put a face to the name and whilst we do our best to meet with as many of our stakeholders as we can, as regularly as we can, sometimes it just isn’t possible.
You can already learn more about the team on our about us page where a short bio and picture will give you a quick peek behind the curtain to see who’s making the magic happen at RPl, but for a bigger insight into our world we’re going to be releasing fortnightly blogs on our website & social Medias centred around getting to know a different member of the Renewable Parts team in each post.
With our ever-expanding team - and several canine colleagues - this one’s set to be a regular feature for the foreseeable future, and we couldn’t think of a better place to start the series than with the man who’s ambition and ideas have brought us all together; Renewable Parts founder Ewan Anderson.
When did you found Renewable Parts and why?
I founded Renewable Parts, Recycled Renewables as it was then, in January 2011. Having spent several years working in the renewables sector I noticed an obvious gap in the supply chain, as well as an opportunity to refurbish used assets (which has more recently led to the opening of our parts Refurbishment Centre.
How long have you been in the Renewables industry, and what drew you to it?
I’ve worked in the renewable sector since 2004, at the time (and still now) it looked like an exciting area to work, it was still a fairly immature market that we could potentially make an impact on, and I'd like to think that we have.
What is your role, and what does your average day entail?
I make a mean cup of tea.… but aside from that my role as Technical Director is to drive business through innovation and technical expertise. I am responsible for all the tricky bits! Trawling through manuals and speaking to technical support of our many suppliers to resolve customer issues is a typical day for me.
What is your favourite part of the job?
Resolving a technical issue or sourcing a particularly tricky part for one of our customers, giving good customer service always makes us feel good!
What 3 words would you use to describe the culture at Renewable Parts?
innovative, dedicated, proactive
When you are not working hard at Renewable Parts what are you most likely to be doing?
Outside of work I’m usually busy running our holiday cottages on the West Coastwhere I live, that or cleaning up after the kids and the menagerie of animals we keep; horses and sheep. I’m also fond of long walks with our black lab Aggie, who visitors to our Lochgilphead office are likely to meet, and on the rare occasion that I get a bit of time to myself you can find me fishing.
With over 20 years experience in wind turbine maintenance and parts supply, we have the technical expertise to help you reduce costs whilst maximising availability levels.
