In her latest LinkedIn blog post our People Manager Emily discusses the importance of our people to our success, and our philosophy of hiring for talent.
Did you know that 80% of our newly recruited team members are new to the renewables industry?
We're proud to be supporting the next generation of fantastic minds who are bringing together their ideas and experiences from a wide range of industries, all with the collective goal of shaping the future of renewables.
Well it is another exciting week for the team at Renewable Parts Ltd as we have two finalists in the Young Professional Green Energy Awards (YPGEA) 2019! Michael, General Manager of the Refurbishment Centre is a finalist in both the Project Development Award, and the Judges Award; and Ethan, our Modern Apprentice is a finalist in the Apprentice Award.
The YPGEA’s recognise individuals who have ‘achieved beyond all expectations, individuals who are pioneering new ideas and have the drive and ambition to change the renewable energy for the better’ and in truth whilst I don’t want to take the limelight away from our finalists I have to say that these criteria could be easily applied to all our people at Renewable Parts – in fact our very own Fred Pullar won the Business Development Award at YPGEA18! And yes, ok I know as Interim People Manager I am quite possibly biased on his topic, however as an organisation we have worked hard (and continue to work hard) to attract, develop and retain top talent.
Over the last year alone we have hired a wide range of talent across field sales, sales support, procurement, data, engineering, apprentices; 80% of whom have come from out with the renewables sector. So, what does this mean for us as a fast growth SME?
Well it means we have a wide range of perspectives in our business, it means we continually hear about new ideas and ways of working, it means we have hired people who have made a conscious choice to work in the renewables sector and are therefore passionate about the sector and all of this means that we have been able to create a culture where our people are encouraged to not only have a voice but that their voice is listened to. And last but certainly not least it means we hope to have many more YPGEA finalists over the next few years as the awards focus on individuals who have been working in the industry for five years or fewer!
And hot off the press I expect you are wanting to know how our finalists faired…? Well I am delighted to say that Ethan won the Apprentice Award which is fantastic and only further demonstrates our commitment to developing Young People.
If this blog has piqued your interest in a career at Renewable Parts and you want to be part of an multi-award winning team please get in touch with our People Manager, Emily at firstname.lastname@example.org in confidence.
