Renewable Parts is a supply chain and refurbishment specialist in the wind energy industry. The company was formed in 2011 by founder Ewan Anderson to become an innovator in green technology for the wind industry, driven by a philosophy of continuous improvement.

As a result of recent business growth, we are looking to expand our sales team. We seek a tenacious Offshore BDM who can deliver growth to a suite of accounts and has the mindset to build a strong portfolio of clients for themselves. In addition, we are looking for someone who is driven, committed, focused and responsible for all aspects of service delivery, client relationship management and customer satisfaction.

Role Description

Reporting to the Head of Sales, the primary responsibility of the Offshore Business Development Manager will be the development of sales in the UK & Europe offshore wind sector in-line with the budgetary demands of the business. You will be tasked with cultivating revenue growth from existing relationships but will also be looked upon to generate self-made opportunities within new accounts.

The Offshore BDM will sell new and re-manufactured parts ranging from small minor corrective to major turbine components. Particular focus will be required in developing new re-manufactured parts solutions; you will be the interface between the client and RPL's engineering team as you seek to find new commercial & technical solutions that present a greener alternative to new components. In addition, the promotion and sale of service kits/consumables will also be a priority.

There will be a strong focus on upholding Renewable Parts' impeccable customer service ethos and delivering a customer experience that is second to none.

Key Responsibilities

  • Growing the revenue and profitability from parts & refurbishment business in the UK offshore wind sector in line with budgetary demands
  • Developing & leveraging strategic relationships with key stakeholders within large energy operators.
  • Identifying and developing new opportunities within new & existing Key accounts.
  • Promoting Renewable Parts business through the development of new Marketing/Promotional material
  • Representing RPL at industry exhibition/trade events
  • Working cross-functionally with engineering/operations to ensure the highest levels of customer service
  • Provide weekly/monthly reports & summaries on activity and performance to KPIs
  • Securing market intelligence on our competitors and market pricing levels
  • Raising quotations, bids & tenders on both external & internal CRM/ERP systems
  • Liaising with internal support functions (procurement/sales support) to ensure effective order management & customer communication is upheld
  • Ensuring adherence to the quality management system

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • You have previous experience working within a BDM/Technical sales role, ideally within the offshore/renewables sector. You can work as an individual, but also as part of a remote team
  • You are a self-starter, ideally with a technical/engineering degree or proven experience
  • You can handle objections and rejection
  • You have with the ability to influence the business direction and are comfortable making key decisions
  • Be highly adept in all aspects of communication and negotiation skills
  • Possess excellent client relationship skills with the ability to build to influence at all levels of seniority
  • You are target driven with a commercially focused approach
  • You are comfortable forecasting an active and accurate sales pipeline
  • Microsoft Office skills are a must, especially Word & Excel
  • Full, clean driving licence - 50% travel within the UK, occasionally Northern Europe
